It’s VACATION TIME!!!! Yay! But, oh… wait. You’re the mom. So you’ve got to figure out what to feed everyone! Don’t worry! We’ve got you covered! We’ve come up with 61 easy to make food ideas for your next vacation. Packing food for a picnic, day at the beach or just for the cabin that’s miles away from the nearest grocery store can be a feat. There are a couple of things you need to consider
- You are not going to want to spend all of your time cooking, so whatever you make needs to be simple or easy to prepare the night before.
- Write a simple menu down so you can pick and choose each day what you want to make.
- Sand gets everywhere. Especially for little kids. So you’ll want to make things that are easy to eat as well.
- Chips, crackers, dried fruit, whole fruit, individually packaged snacks are going to be your friend here.
- Don’t forget the drinks. Make sure you know what all the adults like to drink. Water, water, water. But, also, getting kids to drink when they are busy playing is a little difficult. Make sure you pack capri-suns and I especially love to bring individual chocolate milks, because of the protein it gives them on the go.
- Get the kids involved! It can be a fun vacation activity to make cookies together, to make their own pizzas, or to do an assembly line for the sandwiches!
- Sometimes, when you are away from civilization, you will have to improvise! Check out my master list of cooking substitutions – JUST in case you forgot an ingredient!
